Gaiafield Principles

What We Stand For

The Gaiafield Principles

  1. We strive to embody in all our relations and activities such universal spiritual qualities as courage, compassion, joy, humility, appreciation, innocence, wisdom, and love.
  2. We support subtle activism intended to be for the highest good of all, rather than that intended to benefit a particular person, group, or institution.
  3. We invite you to participate in subtle activism events according to your own spiritual tradition or creative inspiration. We welcome a diverse array of spiritual and consciousness expressions and practices.
  4. We are transpartisan. We welcome the participation of people and groups from across the political spectrum.
  5. We do not support the subtle activism of individuals or groups who fail to acknowledge the legitimacy of any religious or spiritual or consciousness traditions not their own.
  6. Proselytizing is not allowed.

Honoring the Principles of the United Religions Initiative and the Earth Charter

The Gaiafield Project also honors and is aligned with the comprehensive principles developed through extensive collective wisdom-building by the United Religions Initiative and the Earth Charter.

The United Religions Initiative

The United Religions Initiative is a global community with spiritual heart including thousands of members in over 50 countries representing more that 100 religions, spiritual expressions, and indigenous traditions. Its purpose is to promote enduring, daily interfaith cooperation, to end religiously motivated violence and to create cultures of peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings.

The URI Charter was developed through a four year global chartering process by several hundred women, men, and youth representing a diverse array of religions, spiritual paths and indigenous traditions. It inspires, grounds and guides all URI activity.

The Earth Charter

The Earth Charter is a declaration of fundamental principles for building a just, sustainable, and peaceful global society for the 21st century. Created by the largest global consultation process ever associated with an international declaration, endorsed by thousands of organizations representing millions of individuals, the Earth Charter seeks to inspire in all peoples a sense of global interdependence and shared responsibility for the well-being of the human family and the larger living world. The language of the Earth Charter is an expression of hope and a call to help create a global partnership at a critical juncture in history.
